Volunteering Update

Please Note:  We do not have any volunteer shifts posted to our site yet because we are waiting for the space at the Monroe Crossings Mall to be vacated by the previous tenant.  Once we know when we can move in we will be able to post the volunteer opportunities.

We appreciate your support and ask that you check HOPE’s website, follow us on Twitter or Instagram (Hope4ChristmasBureau), or check our volunteer site directly using this link https://www.cervistech.com/acts/console.php?console_id=0234&console_type=event

Special Thank You to Hylaine

We want to give a special shout-out to Adam Boitnott and his team at Hylaine for the excellent technology support they provided to HOPE this fall as we prepared to start taking applications for 2018 Christmas assistance.    Thanks to their hard work and expert knowledge of Microsoft Azure, our application processing system is better than ever and we are able to serve the community more efficiently.  We are so fortunate to be working with Hylaine – even though we are a small non-profit they have given top priority to helping us address our IT challenges.  Thank you, Hylaine!

2018 Christmas Bureau News

It is time to begin thinking about Christmas and the Union County Christmas Bureau. We have a split location this year but wanted to let you know of the plans as of now. We will begin taking applications from families in October. The application process will take place at the new Union County Human Services location. The distribution will be held at Monroe Crossings as last year, but we aren’t able to move into that space until mid-November.

For now, we are asking for volunteers that have basic computer skills and can commit to at least 4 – 8 hours each week from October 1 through November 21. We ask for volunteers to be able to help in 4 hour shifts (8:30-1230 and 12:30-4:30). If you are able to help with this, we will need for you to plan to attend one of the 2 training dates below:

Event Name: Volunteer Application Training

Event Description: Volunteers will be trained on the interview and intake process for the families that will be applying to receive Christmas assistance for their families. Volunteers only need to attend one of the two trainings.

September 24, 9 – 12; or

September 25, 9-12

Event Meeting Location: Union County Human Services, 2330 Concord Avenue, Monroe, NC 28110.
